Cancellations 

All cancellations must be made in writing and should be sent to eastwest@eastwest.is. If it is not possible for you to send us your cancellation via email, please call +354 792 75 00. 

  • You can cancel your day tour up to 24 hours before the departure time of the tour and receive a full refund. The cancellation time is according to our local time, GMT time.

  • No refund is given if a tour is canceled within less than 24 hours before the departure time of the tour. The cancellation time is according to our local time, GMT time. We hope you understand as by that time we will have already made all the arrangements for your tour and can not give your seat out to another passenger.

Please note that other cancellation policies may apply if you have made your reservation through a travel agency or third party. 

Cancellations due to weather

On some occasions, we may need to cancel a tour or activity, in full or in part, due to harsh weather conditions. We will only do so if we feel the weather might put you or someone in our team at risk. For all cancellations due to weather, we will first contact you and offer you an alternative tour/activity or give you the opportunity to change your dates.

If an alternative tour or date does not work for you, we will give you a full refund. 

Modifications 

While the company shall do everything reasonably possible to provide your tour itinerary and details as planned, EastWest reserves the right to alter itineraries or transport if required to do so.

The majority of any such alterations will be minor and we will try to advise you of them at the earliest possible date.

Payments 

EastWest accepts the following payment methods:

Website: all the major credit cards. There is no charge or service fee for processing credit card payments when tours or services are purchased on our website eastwest.is

Sales department: all the major credit cards

Payment will be listed as EastWest / Solid ehf. on your statement. 

Refunds 

Tours purchased on www.eastwest.is have a 24 hours cancellation policy. If you cancel less than that period of time before a tour or activity, no refunds are available. Refunds will be made to the credit card used to purchase tour(s), please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your bank statement.

For tours purchased through travel agencies or third parties, please get in contact with your travel agency and ask for a refund after reconfirmation of the tour cancellation with our office. 

Sightings of the Northern Lights are never guaranteed. Please note a refund is not possible once the tour is provided and the client goes on tour, but we offer as many re-tries as you need to see them (upon our availability).

As with any and all world travel, we strongly recommend that you purchase a travel insurance policy in your home country that covers your cost should you have to cancel your travel reservation with short notice. This kind of travel insurance is not expensive and frequently covers other risks. Having travel insurance is always a good idea when traveling around the world. This is more relevant during COVID-19 times like now.

Warranties 

While EastWest strives to provide accurate information, the website may contain inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information. EastWest takes no responsibility for errors or omissions in the content of the website and makes no commitment to update such information. EastWest shall not be liable for any damages relating to the use of, or reliance upon, the website or such information, features, material or services. 

Lost items

Please note that we do not take responsibility for any lost or broken items while on tour. It is the traveller’s responsibility to look after their personal belongings.

Disclaimer

All tours and activities are undertaken at the responsibility of its participants. EastWest does not assume any responsibility for accidents which are caused by its customers or can be traced to their own actions.

The participants in Eastwest’s tours are responsible for their health during the tours and EastWest does not assume any responsibility for any incident related to Chronic diseases or allergies.

EastWest does not assume any responsibility for any accident that happens out of the buses we use to operate the tours and it is the customer’s responsibility to follow the safety rules at all times in all the places we visit.

The seats in our buses are designed for average people (<100kg) and we don’t assume any responsibility for any comfort problems that people overweighted may suffer when seating on them. If you have any doubts regarding commodity feel free to reach out.

Eastwest does not tolerate any kind of violence, racism, or harassment to the staff or the rest of the passengers during our tours. We reserve our right to stop our tours and take legal action against the participants showing these kinds of behaviors.

The guides and staff from Eastwest may take photos and videos during the tours for marketing purposes that could later be published in social media.
We rely on you to let us know if you don’t want to be published.
